Young Carers

The "Chill Out Zone" opened in 2002. This enabled Young Carers to have a place of their own away from the main Carers Centre. 

Mary Drever, Senior Young Carers Support Worker, is supported by Angie Taylor, part time Education Liaison Officer and part time Activities Worker.

The "Chill Out Zone" provides clubs, such as Homework Clubs, that enable Young Carers to be in an environment where they have 'space' to do their homework away from their caring responsibilities. This also enables Young Carers to realise they are 'not alone' in their caring role.

South Aberdeenshire Young Carers

Anne Park is the Young Carers Worker for South Aberdeenshire.

Anne provides activities and clubs for young people who are caring for a family member at home.

Their Saturday Lunchtime Club meet from 2 - 4pm every second Saturday at the Crossroads Carers Centre, 42-46 Barclay Street, Stonehaven.

North Aberdeenshire Young Carers - “Chill Out2”

Shona Cormack, Young Carers Support Worker is based at VSA Carers Centre, 5 North Street Peterhead. The North Aberdeenshire area covers Fraserburgh through Peterhead to Hatton in the east to Portsoy through Aberchirder to Fyvie in the west.
